Rules & Regulations for Participants

  1. Eligibility: Participating pilots must possess a valid paragliding license issued by an official body.
  2. Equipment: Every pilot must have their own safe wing, harness, reserve parachute, helmet, and radio set.
  3. Technical (Accuracy): Pilots must attempt to land in the center of the designated Target Pad. The closer the landing is to the center, the lower the score (points) awarded.
  4. Safety: Flying under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances is strictly prohibited. The technical team will inspect all equipment before flight.
  5. Judge’s Decision: The decision of the Meet Director (Chief Judge) will be final and binding.
  6. Weather: The organizers may postpone or cancel flights at any time due to bad weather or safety concerns.
  7. Insurance: Participants must have personal accident insurance before joining. Additionally, a group accident insurance policy will be provided for every pilot.

 

Basic Safety Rules

  1. Pre-flight Check: A mandatory pre-flight check of the wing, lines, harness, and carabiners must be conducted to ensure they are in good condition before takeoff.
  2. Safety Gear: Flying without a certified helmet and high-ankle boots is prohibited. The reserve parachute must be properly checked.
  3. Radio Communication: Radio sets must remain “ON” throughout the flight. It is the pilot’s responsibility to follow instructions given by organizers or marshals.
  4. Air Separation: Pilots must maintain a safe distance from other paragliders while in the air. “Right of Way” rules must be strictly followed.
  5. No Acrobatics: This competition is for Accuracy Landing only. Dangerous stunts or acrobatics near the landing zone are strictly prohibited.
  6. Landing Zone Safety: After landing on the target pad, pilots must immediately pack their glider and move to the “Clear Area” to avoid obstructing other incoming pilots.
  7. Health Status: Pilots should not fly if they feel physically or mentally unfit. Flying while ill is considered hazardous.
  8. Weather Compliance: If wind speeds are high or the direction is shifting, pilots must wait for a “Wind Dummy” flight or a signal from the marshal before launching.

 

Registration Benefits (Fee: NPR 5,000/-)

  • Entry: Official participation in the four-day ‘First Nepal Paragliding Premier League’.
  • Local Transport: Transportation provided by the organizers from the Landing Zone to the Take-off point.
  • Meals: Balanced breakfast and clean drinking water for the duration of the competition (four days).
  • Accommodation: Nepalese Players NPR 1,600/-, Indian Players INR 1,500/- and International Players $20.
  • Competition Kit: Event T-shirt, Leg Number, and ID Card for participating pilots.
  • Certification: Official certificate of participation.
  • Technical Support: Radio communication, weather updates, and rescue team backup during flights.

 

Payment & Insurance Terms

  1. Advance Payment: The full fee must be paid within the specified date to complete the registration process.
  2. Non-refundable: Once registered, the fee will not be refunded except under extraordinary circumstances.
  3. Insurance Provisions:
    1. Scope: Each pilot will be covered under a group accident insurance policy. In the event of an accident, the organizing body will only act as a facilitator for medical expenses or compensation.
    2. Claims: Claims must be made directly with the insurance company. The organizers are not liable for direct payments or compensation.
    3. Terms: Approval of claims and payment limits are subject to the Insurance Company’s Policy Terms & Conditions. The organizers bear no financial liability for rejected claims.
    4. Documentation: The participant or their family is responsible for collecting necessary documents (hospital bills, medical reports, police reports, etc.).
    5. Treatment: Insurance benefits may only apply to “Network Hospitals” or approved facilities. Pilots should review policy details beforehand.
    6. Organizer’s Role: The organizers will only coordinate first aid and transportation to the nearest medical facility. No additional claims beyond the insurance coverage can be made against the organizers.

 

Dispute Resolution & Jurisdiction

Any disputes regarding the organization, operation, or rules of the competition will be resolved through mutual understanding. If a resolution cannot be reached, the matter will be handled according to the prevailing laws and acts of Nepal, under the jurisdiction of the relevant authorities or courts designated by the Government of Nepal.

 

Selection Provision

Filling out the application form does not guarantee participation. The Meet Director/Jury and the organizing committee will shortlist participants based on specific criteria. Only shortlisted applicants will be allowed to compete. The organizer’s decision in this matter is final.
